About Your Organization/Department
  • Founded the UCSF Dermatopathology Service in 1987, and along with Timothy McCalmont, co-directs the service currently. The service is a joint undertaking of the Departments of Pathology and Dermatology at UCSF.
  • It is one of the busiest academic dermatopathology sections in the world, having trained nearly 200 visiting fellows from dozens of countries.
  • It was the first in the country to offer molecular diagnostic testing for melanocytic lesions.
 


Dr. LeBoit only started taking his medical career seriously after a hip injury ended his long distance running career. If they can ever fix his legs, he might become a rare sight in the lab.
