Dr. Ng received her AB degree in physiology, cum laude, from the University of California, Berkeley, her PhD in molecular virology from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and her MD degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She took her specialty training in Laboratory Medicine at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Her past positions have included Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at UCSF, and Director of Laboratories at San Francisco General Hospital. She is currently Chair of Pathology and Director of the Clinical Laboratory at Alameda County Medical Center. She is past president of the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists.
