Gregory N. Fuller [M.D., Ph.D.]

Dr. Fuller was born in Houston, Texas, and received his M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine and his Ph.D. degree from The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, both located in Houston’s Texas Medical Center. He completed an Anatomic Pathology residency and a Neuropathology Fellowship at Duke University under the mentorship of Drs. F. Stephen Vogel and Peter C. Burger before returning to Texas to join the faculty of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in 1992, where is currently Professor and Chief of the Section of Neuropathology and Director of the Automated Image Analysis and Tissue Microarray Core Laboratories.

Dr. Fuller is actively engaged in patient care as Chief of the Neuropathology Service, and also has an active research program centered on mechanisms of glioma progression and invasion and molecular classification of brain tumors, for which he received the Lucian J. Rubinstein Award in 2000. He is an Editorial Board member of ten scientific journals, and is the current President of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) for 2011-2012. Dr. Fuller has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific research papers, 50 book chapters, and two textbooks: Practical Review of Neuropathology, which he co-authored with Dr. J. Clay Goodman, and Genomic and Molecular Neuro-Oncology, which he co-edited with Dr. Wei Zhang.
