Dirk M. Elston [M.D.]

Dr. Dirk Elston received his BS degree from Pennsylvania State University and his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College. He took his residency training in Dermatology at Walter Reed Medical Center and his Dermatopathology Fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology. Dr. Elston is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Elston was Managing DIrector of the Ackerman Academy of Dermatology in New York City, NY. Previously he was on the staff at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pensylvania. He was formerly the Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center. He is an award-winning teacher, a frequent lecturer aat national meetings, Co-Editor in Chief of the journal eMedicine — Dermatology, and Associate Editor in Chief of eMedicine — Pediatrics.
