Melinda Lerwill [M.D.]

Dr. Lerwill received her B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University and her M.D. degree summa cum laude from Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency training in Anatomic Pathology and her fellowship training in Breast and Gynecological Pathology at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Lerwill is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and Assistant Pathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is Co-Director of the Breast Pathology Service and Co-Director of the Breast Pathology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her main research interests and publications focus on early neoplasia of the breast, biphasic tumors of the breast, use of immunohistochemistry in diagnostic breast pathology, and metastatic lesions to the gynecological tract. Dr. Lerwill has authored chapters in several well-known references, including Rosen's Breast Pathology (4th edition), Blausteins's Pathology of the Female Genital Tract (6th edition), and Sternberg's Diagnostic Surgical Pathology (6th edition). She is a frequent speaker at national as well as international pathology meetings.
